At Second Chance Ranch Oregon, animals bring us the greatest gifts of healing and connection. Bella, our beloved rescue horse, embodies the heart of Second Chance Ranch Oregon and reminds us why every animal deserves a second chance.
Dogs give us a sense of protection and purpose when comfort is most needed. Their presence alone reduces stress, fosters peace, and strengthens emotional growth. In return, humans offer them love, empathy, and companionship—deepening the bond that brings us joy, laughter, and unconditional love.
Horses, too, are natural healers. Did you know that simply being within one mile of a horse can cause your heartbeat to synchronize with theirs? This natural bond promotes heightened awareness and has been shown to ease PTSD, anxiety, ADHD, depression, and grief. By offering horses trust and compassion, we renew love and hope—for them, and for ourselves.
